Research and Planning: Codes and Conventions of Film Posters

On a film poster you would expect to see a number of things, for example these would be:

• The main image of the character or object, or perhaps a couple of images
• The title would be there to inform the audience of what the film is called
• There would usually be a tag line to give the audience a clue of what the film is about
• There may be additional information e.g.'Based On A True Story'
• Cast and Crew information may be provided
• The production and distribution company logos would be shown
